The Necromancer War is over. Peace and stability have returned to the North, presenting new possibilities, new opportunities, new dangers. Now roundly hailed as heroes for their valor in the war, Tal and Rania find themselves called to serve Valeran once again, summoned to Val Zherrane for a diplomatic event. When an unexpected vessel from a land long believed lost sails into the city’s harbor, they discover that their fame has spread farther than they ever imagined possible. But even as they seek to forge new alliances and soothe suspicions between civilizations strange and unfamiliar to them, an ominous new passage of the Jhessaillian Prophecy is revealed, heralding the return of a terrible threat from the time of the ancients and appearing to fortell the Prophecy’s own failure.
